Lost Movement Company was created in 2011 by Nicolò Abbattista.
The choreographer’s interest consists in people’s daily life and in the context of social relationships in which we are immersed. His current artistic activity is focused on cultural integration and networking. The company’s research process focuses on issues related to identity, gender, social cohesion and contemporary rewriting of classics, with a strong focus on multidisciplinarity and blending of genres.
Nowdays twelve are the company’s productions, of which 4 are on national and international tour.
The most recent productions has received the support of important national Institutions: Fattoria Vittadini and Fondazione Milano, Oriente Occidente in Rovereto, OPLAS/Centro Regionale Danza Umbria, Teatrino dei Fondi (Fucecchio), Consorzio Coreografico CON.COR.D.A (Siena) and Residenze Artistiche Toscane.
For the international distribution, the company is supported by Klub Żak and Gdansk Dance Festival (Poland), and Dance Horizons, a distribution organization based in Edinburgh, Scotland.
The company has received lots of recognition and awards over the years, including: Danz’è Off 2015, finalist at Premio Prospettiva Danza 2017, IDACO (New York), Solo Dance Contest (Gdansk, Polonia), Abelianodanza Contest 2018, Time To Move 2019, Nessuno Resti Fuori – festival di teatro, città e persone.
Since 2021 Lost Movement Company has been supported by OPLAS/Centro Regionale Danza Umbria, a dance production organization recognized by the Ministry of Culture.
