1497: new site-specific performance at Castello Visconteo in Cassano d’Adda
The Lost Movement Company presents 1497, a site-specific performance choreographed by Nicolò Abbattista with dramaturgy by Christian Consalvo, scheduled for October 2, 2025, at 9:00 PM at the Castello Visconteo in Cassano d’Adda, in collaboration with the National Museum of Science and Technology in Milan.
1497 represents the second act of the company’s project dedicated to the figure of Leonardo da Vinci. The title refers to the year in which Leonardo illustrated and adorned Luca Pacioli’s treatise De Divina Proportione with his famous interlacing designs, creating what has been called the true “Da Vinci Code.”
Leonardo’s interlacings—knots formed from willow branches—serve as the starting point for a choreographic reflection on the relationship between humans and nature. Through movement, Lost Movement transforms these interlacings into a unique bodily language, where each gesture conveys the tension and harmony between humanity and the natural world.
The performance features the performers of the Lost Movement Company and the Centro ArteMente: Nicoletta Bellazzi, Chiara Borghini, Lorenzo Botti, Giovanni Careccia, Alessia Carraro, Gianluca Testaverde, Michela Ambrosino, Desirèe Digiglio, Sara Giolo, Lavinia Rogo, Giada Rossi, Chiara Tagliagambe, Angela Ursini, and Marilena Valla, with a special contribution as body artist by Sara Gaboardi.
A unique opportunity to experience Leonardo’s art through the body and the space of the Castello Visconteo, in a dialogue between dance, history, and nature.
