locker_room is a project that explores the mind and body of an athlete in the ultimate place of beginning and end: the locker room. It’s a suspended space, a container of disappointments and victories, of solitude and shared moments, where competitiveness ignites and transforms, first into a challenge with oneself, then with others.
On stage, the ritual of preparation, solitude, fragility, the humiliation of defeat, and the memory of athletic feats are re-lived in a melting pot of sensations and physical states. What remains in the body? What happens to the muscles? What slips away from the skin?
In locker_room, the athletic act and the artistic act intertwine in common ground: that of infinite repetition. A cycle made of training, discipline, and constancy. One must continuously practice, stay vigilant, ready to respond in the moment, in a continuous process of acceptance, confrontation, and self-rediscovery.
The performative act must always be at its peak. But is it allowed to fail?
