“Taboo is the reflection of my clothes and my attitudes, actually the name Taboo is a game, because there’s nothing you can’t do in this place, my work at Taboo is a sort of cabaret, the Taboo must be a place in which people can feel free to be everything with each other or different identity than the pre-established one. I opened the Taboo to have fun, to express my creativity.”

Leigh Bowery performance artist

This piece analyses the research of a human being of his own individuality, the urge of identifying himself in a sexual gender, the suffered or liberating need to recognize himself. In the end, it tells about the awareness that the individual shows in circumscribing himself in a gender, and the freedom that he takes when deciding to change his gender, far from prejudices and conventions, in an incessant source of the right identity, going into the confusion of discovery and the pleasure of transgression.

LGBTQ are the first letters of five words that are yet considered a taboo, but let us guess the key word: Identity.

In Taboo the dancer searches, finds, experiences, lives, changes…
