In everyday life, the human being is trapped in a constant loop of “doing,” an action that inevitably distances them from “feeling.” Feeling oneself, feeling the other, feeling the planet that surrounds them.
Corteccia invites a return to something essential: our most authentic sensations. It is a call to go back to nature, to reconnect with our skin. The skin, the element that envelops and protects us, is our first and most intimate interface with the world. It carries the marks of an entire existence, the scars of time, the traces of lived experiences. The skin is our Corteccia: both shield and living memory, a subtle boundary between the inner self and the external environment. Through movement, the performance seeks to awaken this primordial awareness, urging the audience to reflect on the value of touch, of listening, and of returning to their own sensory roots.
Corteccia draws inspiration from the works of figurative artist Carla Trivellone.
